Funeral Administrative Assistant

Job Duties Assist funeral directors with forms for families making arrangements, including creating obituaries, service folders, bookmarks, register books, and other items for services Tasks related to preparing, maintaining, and scanning funeral files, including legal documents, funeral file forms, and other items on the file checklist Scanning and editing photos for website and stationery items Answer the phones Backup Receptionist as needed, including greeting guests and directing customers to service locations and arrangement rooms Communicate with all employees about families being served and pending families Manage website obituaries, testimonials, and other form submissions Prepare tribute videos Update answering service Maintain casket warranty registrations Print log pages for sister companies Track inventory and order supplies necessary for services, arrangement meetings, and other office needs (envelopes, bags, folders, price lists, stationery, postal supplies, etc.
) Qualifications Experience/Training/Certifications/Licenses:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Previous experience as a Receptionist and Administrative Assistant is required Skill/Ability:
Strong work ethic with a willingness to be a team player Self-starter with excellent time management skills Computer literacy including, but is not limited to:
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and general use of the internet Must be creative with the ability to conceptualize and design esthetic layouts using Canva, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe, and Photoshop Must be able to listen and manage difficult or emotional client situations and respond promptly to client needs Must be able to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other staff members of the organization Must have a congenial personality and display a high level of professionalism Must be very detailed and possess the ability to multi-task successfully Must possess accurate typing skills for data entry Must adhere to a strict grooming and dress code Must be able to follow instructions and respond to direction Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; stand; sit; and walk.
In addition, the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
