Frontline Source Group - temporary staffing and direct hire firm - is looking for a Cost Accountant for our Mt. Pleasant, TX client on a direct Hire basis.
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for all finance/accounting aspects of the plant, partnering with the plant management team in successfully managing the manufacturing operations and meeting financial objectives. Key areas of focus include monthly performance analysis, budget/forecast development and support of cost reduction initiatives. The Cost Accountant will be a member of the Finance & Accounting department and will report directly to and work alongside the CFO.
Duties
Assist leadership in the development and implementation of plant budgets and forecasts
Perform monthly analysis of plant results to assist leadership in determining root causes of deviations in actual results and determining course of action to address deviations.
Coordinate and lead the physical inventory process.
Assist in the month-end closing process.
Perform financial analysis and develop recommendations on new products and product sourcing decisions.
Lead and participate in the development of profit improvement projects.
Provide education and training to teams as appropriate.
Assist leadership in the development, tracking, implementation and verification of capital projects.
Identification and communication of aged inventory and development of action plans.
Ensure that internal controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively.
Assist plant leadership in the identification of material loss as well as development of action plans for improvements.
Execute ad-hoc financial/quantitative analysis and various requests in support of business unit and corporate executives
Requirements
Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or related field or commensurate experience
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint a must
Hands-on cost accounting and shop floor experience
Minimum three (3) years of progressive financial and/or accounting experience, preferably within the manufacturing industry
Strong financial/business modeling skills; data analysis experience a plus
Ability to be adaptive to frequent changes in priorities, organization and strategy; flexible to deadlines with short lead times
A proactive, independent thinker who can figure things out with limited direction
An ability to efficiently communicate financial results to both financially and non-financially oriented persons
